Robert Lavigne presenting the inaugural Life@42 Social Business Workshop with the Brantford Entrepreneurs
A lot of people never have seen a Hash Tag on Twitter.
So they look at it and ask…
“What the Heck is a Hash Tag?”
A Hash Tag is a new way of organizing dialogue, so anybody that uses the #BRANTS Hash Tag is now tagging their message with the rest of the community.
I have people in Boston, people in the United States, people overseas, who are actually aware that this presentation is going on. They will be monitoring the #BRANTS Hash Tag as well. Don’t be surprised, if some of the people that are part of the presentation also show up in the Twitter feed with us.
That is what a Hash Tag is all about.
I am purposely using the #BRANTS Hash Tag as opposed to an event specific Hash Tag. That way, you are exposing yourself to other people in the Brantford Community that make use of the #BRANTS Hash Tag.
I could have used the Hash Tag “#KickAssWorkShop featuring @RLavigne42” in a tweet. However, only the people using the Hash Tag #KickAssWorkShop would be aware of it.
The GOAL, whenever you are using a Hash Tag, is to use it in such a way that you are making your visibility more than just with the people that are physically and psychically around you.
For this particular workshop, I am using the #BRANTS Hash Tag because of the hospitality of Brantford, Ontario.
